Green Woodworking course FAQ's
What is Green Woodworking?
Before we used loads of power to haul huge logs out of the wood and mill them up people used to go into the woods with a few tools and stay there for weeks or months felling trees and making all sorts of items from them in situe. they would then dry the items in the woodland and take them out when they were as light as they would be to save energy. It is a very different woodworking experience to a dusty loud workshop with endless tools.
Do I need woodworking experience?
Absolutely not, in-fact we really encourage anyone who has no experience because we love doing green woodworking and want to share the joy of woodwork and green woodworking with everyone. A certain level of manual dexterity is required however.
What tools are provided?
We provide all neccessary tools from axes to drawknives, shave horses, pole lathes, chisels, froes, spokes shaves and more. If you have your own tool you would like to use, bring it along and we can do our best to make that happen.
How far are you from Bristol?
